About Kartright Speedway

Kartright Speedway is Singapore’s first ever permanent competition-length karting race track. Comprising a 750-metre-long technically-challenging circuit, the track is located at 511 Upper Jurong Road. Just minutes away from Joo Koon MRT and the Pan Island Expressway (PIE), this facility is easily accessible for everyone and ample parking space is provided. It is owned by Kartright Pte Ltd.

The track took five months to be built and is finished with the best grade of bitumen to facilitate high speed racing on slick tyres. It also boasts of being the first ever flood-lit track in Singapore, allowing spectacular night racing under the stars. To further satisfy the drivers’ needs for an enthralling competition, the track is constructed to be 7-metre wide so as to allow thrilling overtaking opportunities. Race karts can go up to 130 kmph and the average time clocked by race karters to complete one lap is 36 seconds. Kartright Speedway, together with the Singapore Motor Sports Association (SMSA), will be organising competitive races regularly.

Alongside is a two-storey building which incorporates the pit lane, spectator viewing gallery, teaching rooms, washrooms, lounges, office and F&B outlets. The track is supported by a full complement of on-site facilities including a pro shop to cater to the needs of karters and indoor kart storage services. Owners of karts can now schedule their own practice sessions - a luxury never experienced before.

Officially opened on 9 January 2010, the track has been well-received by the karting community. It sees a constant stream of walk-in recreational karters, corporate bookings as well as birthday parties, stag nights and club activities. A growing segment of karters at the track are the children ranging from as young as 5 up to 15 years of age , who participate in cadet and junior events. Kartright Speedway is also establishing a children’s academy to train young and promising karters.

Safety is never compromised at Kartright Speedway. The track is surrounded approximately with 4,000 tyres as safety walls to cushion the impact of collisions. Kartright Speedway marshals are deployed at all times to render assistance in times of a breakdown or an incident.

Kartright Speedway operates from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm on weekdays, 9.00 am to 10.00 pm on weekends and closed on Mondays. Before it opened its doors to the public officially, Kartright Speedway already had about 100 privately-owned race karts and 200 registered members. Rides cost $30 for 10 minutes on weekdays, with students getting a concession fee of just $20. No driving licence is required.
